In September 2021, NBPE invested alongside AEA Investors in Chemical Guys, a leading, digitally native marketer and provider of automotive detailing products, tools and accessories. The company’s products are positioned for the premium segment of the do-it-yourself automotive detailing market and span nearly all detailing needs across exterior and interior vehicle care. The company sells directly to consumers through its website as well as through large retailers including Amazon and Walmart.
The Manager believes this was an attractive opportunity to invest alongside a leading private equity sponsor in a company with a differentiated brand and leading market position. Market dynamics are compelling with accelerating growth through e-commerce, a characteristic well-aligned with the Manager’s key investment themes. The Manager believes the company has an attractive financial profile and has multiple growth levers through new products, new markets and product expansion.
